The Advanced Certificate in Blood Bank Technician (ACBTT) is a 2-year intensive professional course aimed at training healthcare support staff for specialized roles in transfusion medicine and laboratory science. The program blends theoretical learning with practical experience across 4 semesters, gradually building core competencies and advancing into modern diagnostic and safety protocols.
Students are taught blood physiology, immunohematology, donor care, cross-matching, component separation, transfusion reactions, and lab automation. Advanced modules cover national blood bank regulations, audit preparation, emergency handling, and record digitization. Students also gain hands-on experience with ELISA, centrifugation, and cold chain storage.
This course prepares students to work confidently in hospitals, diagnostic labs, blood donation centers, and research institutes under clinical supervision.
