The Advanced Certificate in Assistant Physiotherapist (ACAP) is a one-year job-oriented diploma program designed to train individuals in foundational and intermediate physiotherapy practices. This course is tailored for students who wish to work alongside professional physiotherapists in clinical, rehabilitation, and sports medicine environments.
The course offers a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical skills across two semesters. In Semester 1, students develop a base in human anatomy, physiotherapy fundamentals, electrotherapy, exercise therapy, and patient care techniques. Semester 2 builds upon that with specialized topics including orthopedic rehabilitation, neurological conditions, hydrotherapy, community-based rehab, and clinical documentation.
The program includes hands-on practice sessions, equipment handling, patient mobility training, and exposure to various physiotherapeutic modalities like TENS, IFT, ultrasound, etc. Students are also trained in communication, ethics, and safety in healthcare.
Graduates can pursue careers in physiotherapy clinics, hospitals, wellness centers, rehabilitation centers, and sports facilities.
