(Community Medical Services & Essential Drugs)
The CMS & ED course is a 2-year paramedical diploma program designed to equip students with foundational and practical knowledge in community health, basic clinical care, and the safe use of essential drugs. This course is ideal for individuals who wish to serve in rural, semi-urban, or underserved areas as primary health workers or rural medical practitioners.
It provides knowledge and skills related to anatomy, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, minor clinical procedures, first aid, and primary disease management. The curriculum is aligned to support primary healthcare delivery, emergency response, and basic diagnostics, especially in areas lacking full-time medical doctors.
To train students in basic human anatomy, physiology, and disease recognition.
To teach the use and administration of essential drugs and safe prescription practices.
To develop primary diagnostic and treatment skills for common illnesses.
To prepare students for handling emergency cases and first aid.
