The Advanced Certificate in Anaesthesia Technician (ACAT) is a career-focused 12-month program designed for individuals aiming to assist doctors during surgeries and critical care situations. The course blends deep theoretical concepts with hands-on practical training to build solid skills in patient care, anaesthesia handling, and OT operations.
In Semester 1, students cover the basics: human body systems, anaesthetic techniques, drug usage, OT setup, and patient monitoring. Semester 2 builds on this with intensive modules on emergency care, infection control, post-surgical recovery, real hospital training, and communication with patients.
The course prepares students to work confidently in ICUs, operation theatres, trauma units, and hospitals. Strong emphasis is placed on clinical safety, medical ethics, and documentation, ensuring students graduate job-ready for the fast-paced healthcare world.
